L-blocs are delivered on a flat bed
vehicle, nested in threes or fours..
| |
L-blocs should be unloaded using
a suitable fork-lift truck or loader.
NB.Ensure
that Loader is of
sufficient capacity to lift the blocks.
See L-bloc weights.
| |
The wooden batons used to separate
the L-blocs on the vehicle should be placed on a suitable
flat surface and used to sit the L-bloc on prior to
lifting the block upright.
| |
Attach lifting brackets to flat surface
of the L-bloc, using counter sunk bolts provided,
in the 4 (or 8) pre-threaded holes in the blocks.
| |
Attach a lifting chain or lifting straps
to the lifting brackets using D-links. Ensure that the
two sides of the chain /straps are of equal length and
securely fastened, to ensure a level & safe lift.
| |
Use a suitable forklift tine or Excavator
jib to lift L-bloc upright
| |
Lift L-bloc slowly balancing the weight
on the heel of the block.
NB. If lifting the L-Block
on a hard surface (e.g. concrete) it may be advisable
to place a rubber mat under the heel of the block to
avoid damage.
| |
Move vehicle forward slowly as
L-bloc is lifted to ensure a level lift.
NB.Lifting chains/straps should remain
as close to vertical as possible throughout lifting
process .
| |
Once L-bloc is upright, it can be lifted
clear of the ground and transported to its final position.
NB: It is advisable
to lift L-blocsupright as close as possible to their
intended final position to minimise the distance that
a suspended L-bloc has to be carried
| |
Lift L-bloc clear of the ground and
move to required position
| |
Once in position lower L-bloc into
place
| |
If required holes can be drilled in
the ground beneath the L-bloc, (through the 4 (or 8)
holes in the bloc foot) to allow threaded fixing bars
to be used to hold the L-bloc in position.

| |
These holes should be filled with
resin prior to insertion of fixing bars
| |
Repeat process for subsequent L-blocs.
When positioning an
L-bloc locate the tongue of the suspended block into
the
channel in the side of the installed bloc whilst the
new blocis still above ground level.
| |
Lower L-bloc slowly into
position ensuring that the blocs remain interlocked.
This may require external assistance
| |
Once installed the L-blocs fit neatly
together.
| |
Repeat insertion of fastening bar
procedure as necessary.
